Arrangement Details:

  • Key Signature: G Major - 1 sharp (F#)
  • Time Signature: 4/4 β€” Four quarter-note beats per measure
  • Tempo: Moderately
  • Metronome: q = 95 (q represents a quarter-note)
  • Voice Range: G3 - G5
  • Beginner Guitarists β€” You may find the Bm chord a bit tricky at first, especially if you're not yet comfortable with barre chords. A helpful workaround is to play Bm as xx4432, using only the top four strings.
This simplified voicing is a second inversion of Bm. While it doesn't start on the root note (B), it includes all the essential chord tones: B–D–F#, so it still sounds correct.

    Bm:
    🎸 Frets Notes Fingers
    e|---2--- ← F# 1st
    B|---3--- ← D 2nd
    G|---4--- ← B 4th
    D|---4--- ← F# 3rd
    A|---X---
    E|---X---

  • D/F# means you play a D chord leading with an F# bass-note. If you find this chord a little awkward, simply play a normal D chord... it still sounds fine.
  • The D/F# shape can be played as the chart suggests - using your thumb to play the note represented by the letter 'T'. This works well if your hands are big enough to stretch the thumb and play the notes. If this is too hard you can use your first finger to play the 6th string, while your 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers play the D chord instead of fingers 1, 2 and 3.

    D/F#:
    🎸 Frets Notes Fingers
    e|---2--- ← F# 3rd
    B|---3--- ← D 4th
    G|---2--- ← A 2nd
    D|------- ← D
    A|------- ← A
    E|---2--- ← F# 1st

  • The alternative voicing for D/F# as shown in the charts requires a bit of a stretch. If you have a good hand span, you'll find this one very easy to play. πŸ’ͺ
  • The chorus after the bridge is played with drums only, but we've included the chords for reference so you can still follow along or play them if you wish.
  • The hyphen between 2 chords means they share equal timing, e.g., | D - G | means 2 beats on D and 2 beats on G. Similarly | Dsus4 - D | means you play Dsus4 for 2 beats and D for 2 beats.
