Beginners:

This song would typically be considered Intermediate due to chords like Bm and Eb, which are usually played as barre chords. However, we offer a very easy workaround that sounds just like the original recording..

E → Eb → D:
On the 1st and 2nd line of each chorus, you will see the following:

 A D E7 E7 E Eb D
 I fall to | pie-ces | / / / / | |

The easiest way to play E & Eb on beats 3 and 4 of the barre, is to use a D-shape chord and play only the top three strings, like this:

🔹 D-shape starting on the 4th fret = E
🔹 D-shape starting on the 3rd fret = Eb

This transitions smoothly into the D chord in the next bar, which is played as normal.
Here it is in Tab form:

Numbers: Frets
0: play string open
X: don't play string
🎸 E Eb D
e|---4------3------2---
B|---5------4------3---
G|---4------3------2---
D|---X------X------0---
A|---X------X------X---
E|---X------X------X---

Bass Run
You don’t have to play the bass run, but it can be very effective—especially in country music. If you prefer to skip it, simply continue strumming the 'A' chord.

Numbers: Frets
0: play string open

🎸 /E /F# /G#
e |-------------|
B |-------------|
G |-------------|
D |-------------|
A |-------------|
E |--0---2---4--|

A/C#
This chord requires a bit of a stretch, but if you have a good hand span, it’s very easy and sounds great. If you find it difficult to play, just continue strumming the 'A' chord.

Chord Changes
They occur at a fairly rapid pace, so make sure you are comfortable with all of the above. If any sections are slowing you down, take a moment to practice them repeatedly until they feel natural and flow smoothly. This is a great song, and well worth the extra effort.💪🎶
