Arrangement Details:

  • Key Signature: C Major - No sharps or flats
  • Time Signature: 4/4 - Four quarter-note beats per measure
  • Tempo: Moderately
  • Metronome: q = 88 (q represents a quarter-note)
  • Voice Range: G4 - C6
  • Beginner Guitarist: A fair knowledge of open chords is required.
  • You can substitute Am/G in place of Am7/G—both sound great in context. I chose Am7/G after watching a solo performance by Bruno where he played it that way. It adds a touch of color, but either chord works well depending on your preference and style.
  • Am/G or Am7/G simply means that you play the Am or Am7 chord as you normally would, leading with a bass note of G which is on the 6th string on the 3rd fret using your 3rd or 4th finger depending on whether you play the Am or Am7... the Am7/G is easier to play.
  • While playing solo, Bruno uses barre chords on the last 2 lines of each verse. It adds interest to the progression, so that the song doesn't sound too repetitive... it works well.
  • You can also play barre chords on the last line of the Bridge section of the song—try it out (see 'Chord Charts' above for barre chord alternatives to Dm-Em-F-G).
