The Corrs - Breathless
The Corrs - Jim, Caroline, Andrea & Sharon

The Corrs are a family Irish folk/pop/rock band that were formed in 1990. They have achieved international success over a long period of time, from the mid 90's through to more recent times. There are 3 sisters and a brother; Andrea is the lead vocalist and plays tin whistle; Sharon plays the violin and sings; Caroline plays drums, piano and sings; Jim plays guitar, piano and sings... all in all, a very talented family.

Their music has traditional Irish influences but also their pop rock flavor makes them very popular with mainstream music fans.

Forgiven, Not Forgotten was their debut album. It was well received internationally but did not reach the same heights in Britain and the U.S.A. as it did in other countries. This album featured numerous Celtic instrumentals.

1997 saw the re-release of their second album, Talk on Corners featuring some of their most popular songs such as, Runaway, What Can I Do, and So Young. The album topped the charts throughout the world.

The Corrs performed at many charity concerts around the world during this time and significantly enhanced their public appeal and popularity. They received an award for being The Best International Band in 1999 and performed live and unplugged on MTV - the album subsequently sold 2.6 million copies worldwide.

In Blue was their third album and was more 'mainstream' than any of their previous albums. They were rewarded for this change in direction with the album debuting at number one in many western countries. It even reached the top 10 in Australia and became a Top 40 hit in America. Breathless was the hit single from this album and many would consider this to be their signature song. The song was nominated for a Grammy in 2001 under the category of Best Pop Performance by a band or duo.

In 2003, The Corrs released their next album which was more of a return to their roots in folk music. Borrowed Heaven was the name of the album which was dedicated to their parents. (Their mother had recently died while awaiting a lung transplant.)

In 2006 some of the siblings stopped performing to raise their families and other have gone on to pursue solo careers. In 2015, the band re-united with the release of their latest album White Light on Nov 27, 2015, and a world tour in 2016.
